What is Over 50’s Health?
The benefits of a holistic approach to strength training, nutrition, cardio, and mental health are many for any age group, even more so for those over 50 years of age.
Our team at Over 50’s Health, takes great pleasure in working with health-conscious people to become masters of their own health.
We work with you to build great nutritional habits, start with a foundational resistance training program while you learn the correct techniques when lifting weights and increasing your strength, and changing your body composition. We also mix in a good balance of cardio exercise to support your cardiovascular health, and we also know and love how great it is to have a supportive community, that helps with mental health and happiness.
We provide education and support for nutrition, and you will learn how to use food as fuel to support your strength training program.
Our programs are based on the three powerlifting disciplines of Squat, Bench Press, and Deadlift. We do that because when you perform those exercises or lifts, you actually use all of your muscle groups. Performing resistance exercises increases your physical strength, and improves your mental strength.
Increasing your strength, and building muscles as you age helps with your balance, reducing the risk of falls and increasing your bone density. Strength training is really important for people with health issues like arthritis or osteoporosis. It also helps you be able to get out of your chair, climb stairs easily, carry groceries, and achieve everyday tasks that are quite difficult for those who are lacking in strength.
Here’s a question; If you knew that there is a type of exercise that strengthened your bones, helped you lose weight, benefited your heart, improved your balance, as well as made you look and feel better, wouldn’t you want to just jump right in and get started? … Yeah, me too!
